Our Solution

We make wall crack repair
simple, quick and affordable

Over the years, we’ve implemented our proprietary wall crack repair solution into thousands of homes. With our extensive experience, we’re perfectly placed to repair your wall cracks, whether your home is small, medium or large.

Highly qualified and fully licenced, our technicians and structural engineers will diagnose the true cause of your home’s problems, with speed and efficiency.

From there, they’ll design a cost-effective, permanent wall crack repair solution utilising our HelicalBar™ system. This will stop your building’s walls from cracking any further, fast.

Wall Crack Repair Method No. 1: Crack Stitching

On Facing Brick

We begin this wall crack repair method by removing mortar from selected bed joints in your walls. We then flush those slots with clean water. Afterwards, we bond a 6mm HelicalBar™ into each slot, 500mm on both sides of the crack using GroutSet.

If your wall cracks are within 300mm of a corner, we pre-bend the bar to form a 90-degree elbow to extend the bar around the corner. To complete this wall crack repair process, we point these sections with a mortar that’s similar to the existing wall for a aesthetically pleasing finish.

On Rendered Face

For this wall crack repair method, we use power cutting tools with vacuum attachments to cut slots through the render, into the centre masonry. We cut as per the specified depth and vertical spacing. After the slots are cut, we flush them with water to clean them.

To secure the walls, we bond a single 6mm HelicalBar™ into each slot, 500mm on either side of the crack using GroutSet. If cracks are within 300mm of a corner, we pre-bend the bar to form a 90-degree elbow to extend the bar around the corner.

At the end, any cracks or slots are ready for a decorator to fill, sand down and paint over for a finish that looks brand new. If any exposed brickwork or loose render poses a danger, we make it safe for the decorator well before they arrive.

Wall Crack Repair Method No. 2: Corners

Repairing Cracks Near Wall Corners

To start this wall crack repair method, we drill a 5mm pilot through the centre of the brick to 100mm beyond the crack. We then drive an 8mm HelicalBar™ RemTie into each hole using a hammer drill with a special adapter.

We then fill the small pilot holes with a mortar similar to that of the brick face to hide the repairs.

Wall Crack Repair Method No. 3: Creating Masonry Beams

In Cavity Walls

We remove mortar from selected bed joints and flush them with clean water. We then bond one 6mm HelicalBar™ into each slot using GroutSet. This can be done in both the inner leaf and the outer leaf.

To complete this wall crack repair process, we point the sections with a mortar similar to that of the existing wall to hide the repairs.

In Solid Walls

We remove mortar from selected bed joints and flush them with clean water. But unlike creating masonry beams in cavity walls, we bond two 6mm HelicalBars™ into each slot. We use GroutSet to ensure full grout coverage and extra stability.

As with cavity walls, we point the sections with mortar similar to the existing wall to finalise the wall crack repair.

Wall Crack Repair Method No. 4: Installing Movement Joints

In Solid Walls

We cut a vertical slot 6mm wide through the full height and depth of the wall. Afterwards, we remove mortar from selected bed joints and flush them with water to clean. We then slide a plastic sleeve over the pre-cut 6mm HelicalBar™ and place the sleeve and bar into each slot using GroutSet.

Bed joints are then pointed with mortar similar to the existing wall to hide repairs. To complete this wall crack repair process, we fill the 6mm slot with a silicon-based, flexible filler with a colour similar to that of the wall.

In Cavity Walls

This wall crack repair method is almost the same as when we install movement joints into solid walls. The main difference is that we use RemTies to tie the inner and outer leaves together.

To complete the process, we point the bed joints with mortar to hide repairs and fill the 6mm slot with a silicon-based, flexible filler in a colour similar to that of the wall.
